Stocked Pantry · Effective August 21, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the Stocked Pantry app for mobile devices (the "Application"), operated by Justin Vertock ("we," "us," or the "Service Provider"). It describes what information the Application actually collects, why, and how it's used.
If you create an account, we collect:
This information identifies your account and is linked to your use of the app — it is not anonymous.
Item names, quantities, categories, storage locations, expiration dates, and any barcodes you scan are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, this content is stored in your own private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit — not on our servers. If you share a location with family members, Apple's CloudKit sharing handles exchanging that data with the people you invite.
When you scan a barcode, the barcode number (not a photo or any personal information) is sent to Open Food Facts, a free, open, third-party product database, so we can suggest a product name for you.
The Application uses your device's camera live, on-device, to scan barcodes. No photos or video are saved, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
As with any internet connection, the servers we and our service providers use (Firebase, Apple, Open Food Facts) will incidentally see your device's IP address and basic connection information as part of standard network communication. We do not separately log, store, or analyze this.
To be direct about what this app does not do:
The Application contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no cookies or tracking pixels of any kind.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers or advertisers.
The Application relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
We may also disclose information: as required by law (e.g., subpoena); when necessary in good faith to protect our rights, your safety, or others' safety, or to investigate fraud; or with service providers who process data on our behalf and are bound to the practices described here.
Pantry data lives on your device and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud account — both secured by Apple's platform protections. Account data is secured by Firebase Authentication's standard security practices. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we do handle.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, contact us at Support@forreallifestudio.com.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, contact us at Support@forreallifestudio.com.
Our service providers (including Firebase/Google and Apple) may process data in countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
You can delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at Support@forreallifestudio.com. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from your device but does not automatically delete server-side account data — contact us to request that separately.
The Application is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at Support@forreallifestudio.com so we can delete it.
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy here with a new effective date. Previous versions are available on request.
Where processing is based on consent, you provide that consent by opting in to the relevant feature (e.g., creating an account, enabling iCloud sync). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
If you have questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, contact us at Support@forreallifestudio.com.
